JAMESTOWN – A group of concerned citizens will be descending on downtown Jamestown this afternoon to protest the government shutdown in Washington. According to a source, organizers are putting together what they’re calling a “Day of Action.” The protest will take place in front of the entrance of the Jamestown office of Congressman Tom Reed at 2 East 2nd St. and will begin at 1:30 p.m. Protestors are expected to be hand, carrying signs regarding the shutdown, debt ceiling, and risk to social security funding. A number of seniors are expected to be in the group, along with several other residents.
