JAMESTOWN – City police were busy on Tuesday dealing with several drug busts and even responding to an armed robbery that turned out to be false.
On Tuesday morning, city police executed two search warrants at separate residences that resulted in the arrest of two individuals on drug charges.
While searching a home at 303 Crescent St., police found a large quantity of marijuana and drug packaging. As a result, they arrested 26-year-old Randalea Rivera. Another search at 823 Prendergast Avenue revealed a quantity of ecstasy pills, marijuana, drug packaging materials, and cash. One person at that address – 23-year-old Raheem Butts – was arrested.
Both Rivera and Butts were taken to the Jamestown City Jail for arraignment on related drug charges.
Meanwhile, an Ashville woman has been arrested for allegedly selling cocaine, following a two-month investigation. City police arrested 22-year-old Jessica Keeler on various drug-related charges. Keeler allegedly sold quantities of cocaine to an agent of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force in Jamestown. Keeler was brought in on a warrant, arraigned and sent to the county jail. Police say additional charges will be filed against her at a later date.
And Jamestown police early Tuesday responded to a reported armed robbery that later proved to be false. Officers say they were called to investigate the false incident, which involved an unidentified female telling officers she was assaulted and robbed while jogging around 4:30 a.m. on the city Riverwalk. The report proved to be false. Police says the female concocted to story and is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation.
