Local Men Charged Following Shop Lifting Incident

November 12, 2015 By WRFA Radio 1 Comment

Jamestown Police BadgeJAMESTOWN – Two men have been arrested for shoplifting at a local supermarket.

City police say 55 year-old Alan Feeney of Falconer and 39 year-old Stephen Carlson of Jamestown were charged Wednesday night after a shoplifting investigation at Tops Supermarket on Washington Street.

Police say Feeney allegedly stole alcoholic beverages by placing them in a cart and walking out of the store without paying as Carlson allegedly distracted several employees. Once Feeney left the store, Carlson quickly followed and reportedly helped carry the stolen merchandise.

Police were called to the scene and were able to quickly identify Carlson, who had left his name and phone number at the service desk while inquiring about a job.

Officers then went to Carlson’s Tenth St. home where they found both men, along with the stolen merchandise. The two were charged and will appear in court at a later date.
