The American Red Cross of Southwestern New York recently received a $25,000 donation from the Lenna Foundation in Jamestown for relief efforts in the Philippines following the recent typhoon that devastated parts of the country.
As of December 9, the American Red Cross relief team that is part of the global Red Cross response has distributed tarps, water cans, mosquito nets and hygiene kits to approximately 44,000 people and the distribution is ongoing. The Red Cross has delivered food packages to more than 785,000 people and provided clean water to nearly 600,000 people.
