WASHINGTON – Congressman Tom Reed (R, Corning – NY 23rd) has come out against the proposed Iran Nuclear Agreement recently announced by President Barack Obama.
During a conference call with regional media on Monday (Aug. 10, 2015), Reed reiterated his reasoning for being against, saying he was against stipulations in the agreement regarding inspections, technology restrictions, and relief of sanctions for what he feels is a very anti-American regime. In addition, he was disappointed the agreement did not deal with the release of four American prisoners who are currently being held in Iran.
However, despite already taking a position on the agreement, Reed said he still wants to hear from his constituents on what their thoughts are on the deal. As a result he’s hosting a series of town hall meetings across his district, with four scheduled for the Chautauqua and Cattaraugus County areas – all taking place on Saturday, August 22.
The will be held at the following time and locations:
- 8:00 AM – 5 Main Street, Frewsburg
- 10:30 AM – 2883 North Road, Findley Lake
- 1:00 PM – 2775 Rte. 20, Sheridan
- 3:30 PM – 14 Main Street, Cattaraugus
