WRFA public affairs director Jason Sample talks with Mental Health advocate Kevin Hines in advance of his appearance in Chautauqua County for Suicide Prevention Week.
At 19 years of age, two years after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder, Hines attempted to take his own life by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. His is one of only 34 people to survive the fall. He uses his story as part of his effort to spread the message of living mentally healthy.
Hines will speak at SUNY Fredonia at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21 and at SUNY JCC at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21.
