JAMESTOWN – The Wild West has made its way to Jamestown.
The 2014 Cody Family Reunion got underway in Jamestown on Thursday with an afternoon reception and dinner at the Gateway Train Station.
According to Gateway Train Station manager Lee Harkness, hundreds of people are expected to be in Jamestown and Chautauqua Institution for the reunion, which continues today and runs through Sunday.
Among the highlights is a “Wild West Shootout” scheduled for Friday afternoon on 3rd St. in front of the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts. On Saturday morning, there will also be a Western Parade through the downtown, beginning at 9 a.m. Once the parade is over there will also be a “Wild West Show” in front of the Train Station, conducted by Tom Bishop and the 4B Ranch. That will be followed by a rifle salute to Medal of Honor Winner William F. Cody.
