WRFA’s Jason Sample talks with Tyler Westcott, who will be performing in Jamestown on Dec. 29 as part of Rollling Hills Radio with Ken Hardley. The show is sold out.
Westcott grew up in Hunt, NY. He started playing music at about 10 years old. He took up the guitar around 13. .He played open mic night every Wednesday at Muddy Waters cafe in Geneseo, where he learned a lot from Steve West and Johnny Lucas.
Tyler founded the band Folkfaces in Buffalo and started gigging and working many day jobs to support his music habit. He joined up with local Buffalo bluegrass band the Observers and Louisiana influenced Black Rock Zydeco.
He’ll perform in Jamestown as part of Rolling Hills Radio with Max Garcia Conover. The show will be recorded and broadcast at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017.
