WRFA Public Affairs Director Jason Sample talks with Patricia Briggs, Director of the Weeks Gallery at Jamestown Community College in Jamestown, NY, about the Warhol Effect.
Andy Warhol was one of the most influential artists of the second half of the twentieth century. Without question, his impact continues to be felt throughout the art world today.
Warhol Effect presents six Warhol prints from the Weeks Gallery’s permanent collection alongside the work of contemporary artists that is marked by the Warhol effect.
Featured artists include Reginald Baylor (painter, Milwaukee), Mark Gagnon (painter and illustrator, New York City) Matthew Gamber (photographer, Boston), Mary Mazziotti (fabric artist, Pittsburgh), Piotr Szyhalski (media artist, Minneapolis) and Xavier Tavera (photographer, Minneapolis).

Opening Reception, February 6, 2015, 6-8 p.m.
February 4, 5, 6: Resident artist and illustrator Mark Gagnon from New York City will be on campus visiting art department classes.
February 18 at noon: Neil Flory Improvises Music in The Weeks Gallery.
March 4 from 6:30-8:00 p.m.: Gallery Director Patricia Briggs presents “Warhol’s Legacy from the 1970s to Present” in The Weeks Room.
March 11 at noon: Brownbag Lunch with Gallery Director Patricia Briggs, “What is the Warhol Effect?
