WRFA Public Affairs Director Jason Sample talks with Fredonia Music Professor James Piorkowski and Trinity Guitars’ Jim Holler about an upcoming performance by the Fredonia Guitar Quartert.
The Quartet will be performing at a special taping of Trinity Guitars’ Back Room Radio Hour at Infinity Visual and Performing Arts in Jamestown, NY on Thursday, March 12 at 7:00 PM.
The program will consist of works by Johann Pachelbel, Roland Dyens, Stephen Funk Pearson, and Antonín Dvořák.
The members of the Fredonia Guitar Quartet are:
– Matthew Downey, a master’s degree student in Music Performance, is from Otego, NY.
– Matthew Kingsley, a senior Music Performance major, is from Lockport, PA.
– Kieran Franzone, a senior Music Performance major, is from Ronkonkoma, NY.
– Alexander Rockwell, a senior Music Performance major, is from Ballston Spa, NY
This concert will be a special edition of the Trinity Guitars Back Room Radio Hour and will air on Monday, March 16 on WRFA 107.9FM and will be streamed on www.wrfalp.com.
Of special interest is the fact that all four guitars have been built here in Jamestown by luthier Jim Holler. He will also have additional Holler-built guitars on display that evening. “It is so exciting to have the Fredonia Guitar Quartet in a return engagment at Infinity; they are all playng guitar I have built. It is like a family reunion,” Holler said.
Admission is free, and donations to Infinity Visual and Performing Arts are encouraged.
