JAMESTOWN, NY – An internationally touring and cirtically acclaimed magician and Illusionist will bring his show to Reg Lenna Center for The Arts on Saturday night.
From his breathtaking double levitation to his cutting edge op-art and plasma illusions, Jason Bishop is sure to provide stunning and original state of the art magic.
According to Bishop – who talked with WRFA earlier this week – his show will feature award winning sleight of hand, exclusive grand illusions and close-up magic projected onto a huge movie screen. Bishop said that no other touring illusionist showcases such a diverse array of talents.
“The show is the largest touring, single magic show in the country right now and I really like that it has so many different aspects to it,” Bishop said. “We get people involved, they come up on stage and they witness some of the magic first-hand. We do close-up magic like you see on TV, but it gets projected on big screens… and then we do some really big, amazing illusions that no other illusionists combines those kinds of tricks that we do, so we’ll do a levitation, and we’ll make people disappear and there’s quit a few other surprises that I don’t want to get into.”
Bishop added that his presentation incorporates a lot of modern technology and elements – making it one of the most state-of-the-art live magic shows in the world.
“We try to be on the cutting edge, so the old ‘I’m going to saw a woman in half’ trick or ‘I’m going to make a rabbit appear out of a hat’ – we don’t do those tricks. So we literally use a plasma screen and interact with it, objects come out of the screen, and we also use an iPhone as part of our act,” Bishop explained. “So we try to keep it really modern – using a modern soundtrack, a modern look and giving it a modern feel. We also use humor too so the audience can relate to it in a more modern level than most old magicians you may see at a fair or something like that.”
Bishop has performed in over 40 different countries and has appeared on several television programs in both the United States and Abroad.
Tickets for Saturday’s show start at $18. Children 12 years-old and under are admitted at half the ticket price.
