MAYVILLE – The Chautauqua County legislature will hold its monthly voting session Wednesday night in Mayville.

Among the items on tonight’s agenda are a resolution to begin the process of upgrading the Dunkirk Airport, which will cost $300,000 with 90 percent of that cost coming from an FAA grant. Lawmakers will also consider a resolution to increase the salary of the legislature clerk – a position currently held by Katherine Tampio. If approved, the salary will be $28,880, an increase of nearly $11,000 per year. However, the hours of the position would also be increased from 49 percent time to 80 percent time. And lawmakers will also act on a resolution to distribute bed tax money for various water way projects in the county.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:30 pm in the legislature chambers and is open to the public.
