BUFFALO – The man who owns and operates a Lakewood business will spend the next year in a federal prison after being sentenced U.S. District Court on Wednesday.
According to WIVB in Buffalo, 57-year-old John Creighton of Bemus Point who was convicted of failing to pay payroll taxes and also ordered to pay $663,627 to the Internal Revenue Service. Creighton is the president and owner of Classic Brass, Inc. in Lakewood. He was found guilty of not paying the payroll taxes to the IRS that he collected from his employees in 2010 and 2011. He also failed to file Forms 941 regarding the payment of payroll taxes during those two years.
