BUFFALO – Forecasters with the National Weather Service in Buffalo have issued a Lake Effect Snow Warning for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties for 10 p.m. Thursday until 1 p.m. Saturday. In addition, a Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Thursday morning.
Weather officials say the area can expect snow Thursday night through Saturday morning, with the most persistent snow bands located along the Chautauqua Ridge and northern Chautauqua County. The forecast is calling for 3 to 6 inches of snow for overnight, 4 to 8 inches during the day Friday, 4 to 8 inches Friday night, and 3 to 6 inches on Saturday.
Areas across Southern Chautauqua and Southern Cattaraugus Counties will likely see a total of a foot of snow or less from Thursday night through Saturday afternoon.
