BUFFALO – A Lake Effect Snow warning Remains in effect for all of Chautauqua County and Cattaraugus Counties until 7 p.m. Monday and a lake effect snow watch has been issued for the county from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, the Lake Effect Snow Warning for Monday is expected to deliver anywhere from 4 to 7 inches today in the most persistent snow areas, with another 1 to 3 inches expected Monday night. For Tuesday, anywhere from 3 to 6 inches could fall in the afternoon, with an additional 7 to 13 inches expected Tuesday night and overnight into Wednesday morning. And as much as 4 to 8 inches of snow could fall on Wednesday.
Combined with high winds, the snow could affect visibility for motorists and also create snow covered roads with near whiteout conditions at times.
