MAYVILLE – After nearly three weeks, jury selection in the Anthony Robert Taglianetti II trial continues in Mayville with both the defense and prosecution still unable to settle on 12 jurors.
Taglianetti – a resident of Virginia – faces a charge of second-degree murder and stands accused of killing Clymer School Superintendent Keith Reed Jr. outside of Reed’s Clymer home in August 202. Because of the extensive media coverage in the weeks and months following the murder, attorneys are having a difficult time finding jurors.
According to YNN News, on Monday, a Buffalo judge denied a request from Public Defender Nate Barone to put jury selection on hold as he finalizes plans to file for a change of venue. No additional jurors were picked on Tuesday and currently, only five jurors have been selected. A total number of 700 residents were summoned in the case. Jury selection will resume Wednesday.
