JAMESTOWN – The fourth and final installment of Jamestown Young Professional’s (JYP) fall speaker series will focus on the Jamestown BPU and energy consumption. The presentation will take place on Oct. 24 at the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Interested individuals can enter through the customer service entrance. This event is free to attend and open to the community.
The speakers will discuss energy services and opportunities for Jamestown. Speakers include: General Manager David Leathers, Energy and Gas Resources Manager David Gustafson, Electrical Engineer Kristofor Sellstrom, Energy Efficiency Coordinator Dan Reynolds, and Mechanical Engineer James Samonsky.
“I am impressed with the presentation schedule the Young Professionals group has put together this Fall, and am very excited about this collection of educated, talented, and motivated individuals dedicating their time to visit the Jamestown BPU,” said Dave Leathers, General Manager. “Gaining additional knowledge of what is occurring in our local area, and then using that information to foster individual and group involvement, only makes our City and local region a more attractive place for people to visit and live. The BPU Staff certainly looks forward to meeting with the JYP representatives to share important information about the City utilities; our operations, challenges, and contributions.”
The presentation will consist of a variety of topics, including: power trends and public policy, energy efficient programs and opportunities, a general outline of power generation and distribution, and a possible tour of the power plant if site conditions permit. For updates and more information on the presentation visit the JYP Facebook page.
