JAMESTOWN – An 18 year-old city resident faces multiple charges following a domestic incident that took place the morning of Wednesday, June 22.
Jamestown police were called to a residence at 112 Liberty St. at 9:15 a.m. June 22 to respond to a report of an unwanted male at the residence. Police say they spoke to a female victim who alleged that 18 year-old Omar Vera-Velasquez had come to the residence shortly before police arrived and physically assaulted the victim. He’s also accused of gaining entrance into the victim’s apartment and stealing property. In addition, he was accused of going to the apartment the prior evening and breaking the door into the apartment.
Following an investigation Vera-Velasquez was located and taken into custody. He’s been charged with Burglary – 1st degree, Burglary – 2nd degree, Robbery – 2nd degree, Assault – 2nd degree, Criminal Mischief – 4th degree and Petit Larceny. He’s currently being held in the city jail pending arraignment.
