JAMESTOWN – The City of Jamestown Summer Playground Program hosted a Tree Day event Tuesday morning at Allen Park.
Summer Playground Program attendees from all sites were on hand for an initial talk given by City Arborist Dan Stone. A tree planting and nature walk also took place.
Tree Day activities also included the announcement of a coloring contest for all Summer Playground Program participants. Winners will be announced at the Program’s Annual Talent Show at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday Aug. 5 at the Goranson Bandshell in Allen Park.
The summer playground program is made possible through support from the City of Jamestown, the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, Jamestown Public Schools, New York State Office of Children and Family Services, and the Ralph C. Sheldon Foundation.
