JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown School board has started the process of preparing for the district’s 2016-17 budget.
According to a recent article in the Jamestown Post-Journal, the school board met on Tuesday night to begin planning for how it will proceed with the budget, with Superintendent Tim Mains announcing two public input sessions to help the board prioritize the most important needs of the district, based on the community’s input.
The first session will take place on Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. while the other will be on Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. Both will be held in the school administration building on Martin Rd. and are open to the public.
SCHOOL SEEKING INPUT ON DISTRICT COMMUNICATION
Meanwhile, Jamestown Public Schools is asking for the public’s help to complete a survey regarding district communication. The on-line survey is available in English and Spanish and can be accessed at www.jamestownpublicschools.org on the home page.
For parents/families and community members who do not have on-line access, copies of the survey can also be completed at the main offices of every Jamestown school, or call the Superintendent’s Office at 483-4420 to have a survey mailed to you.
Mains says the survey is part of the district’s strategic plan and the effort to improve school communication with parents and students.
The district will collect survey responses through the end of this month.
