JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown School Board will hold its monthly meeting tonight at the administrative offices on Martin Rd. Officials are expected to continue the effort to finalize a 2012-13 school year budget.
The $77.74-million spending plan calls for an increase of $3.29 million over the current year’s spending plan. After increases in state aid and the end of short-term federal aid, the district faces a projected gap of $1.27 million. School officials were hoping a state budget would be in place by now, so they would know exactly how much aid the district would be getting from Albany, but so far, a state budget has yet to be agreed upon.
Tonight’s school board meeting begins at 7 p.m. and is open to the public.
