JAMESTOWN – City police are asking for the public’s help in solving a rash of arsons that have taken place in the city.
According to a recent media release, police believe there is pattern in a series of arsons that have taken place in the city during the past couple years, involving more than a dozen vacant and condemned homes since January 2014. The most recent case involved a fire at 420 Falconer St. set on May 18.
As a result, police suspect the fires have been set by a serial arsonist, and are asking residents in the city to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity they may see – especially at or near vacant homes in the city.
Anyone who may see suspicious activity, or who has any information on recent arson fires, is asked to contact the Jamestown Police Department at 483-Tips (8477). All calls will be kept confidential.
