JAMESTOWN – Jamestown police have released the names of the two victims killed in a double homicide that took place Tuesday morning, Dec. 8, at a home on Barrows St. in the city.

Jamestown Police Captain Robert Samuelson says the victims have been identified as 52-year-old Catherine Witruke and 34-year-old Eric Washburn. The man believed to be involved in the homicides, 51 year-old Allen Witruke, was arrested Tuesday afternoon after being located in Olean, NY.

Police say investigation revealed that Catherine Witruke was Allen Witruke’s wife and Washburn was Allen Witruke’s step son. They say Witruke allegedly used blunt force trauma on one of the victims and also stabbed both victims multiple times causing their death. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene Tuesday by the Chautauqua County Coroner and the bodies are currently undergoing an autopsy at the Erie County Medical Examiners Office.

Witruke has been charged with two counts of 2nd degree murder and is being held in the county jail until arraignment.
