JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police are asking for the public’s help in providing information related to a shooting incident that took place Tuesday afternoon on Prendergast Ave.
The male victim in the incident was not struck by the round that was fired.
According to Jamestown Police Captain Robert Samuelson, police are looking for the suspect – described as a dark-skinned Hispanic male in his 40s, wearing a red tank top, Caveliers hat, and long dark shorts.
The incident took place at about 1:24 p.m. Tuesday at 811 Prendergast Avenue. Police were called to the scene for a report of a gunshot victim at the location. Officers arrived and secured the scene and determined that the single shot was fired from a pistol inside the upper apartment at the address. It was determined the male victim was not struck with the round. The victim, however, was struck with the gun during an altercation that occurred inside the apartment. The suspect the reportedly fled the scene and entered a green caravan before driving away from the area.
