JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown Police Department is continuing its search for the suspect involved in a shooting that took place late Thursday afternoon that left one person dead.
Jamestown Police Captain Robert Samuelson says the incident occurred at 853 Prendergast Ave. at about 5:45 p.m. According to Samuelson, a male victim was shot multiple times as he stood on a porch. The shooter, who is described as being black or hispanic and wearing dark clothes, reportedly walked up to the porch from an area behind the house and fired several shots at the victim before fleeing on foot. The victim was taken to WCA Hospital via Alstar ambulance where he was later pronounced dead. The victim’s name is not being released at this time.
Samuelson says investigators do not believe it was a random act of violence and that the victim was specifically targeted.
