JAMESTOWN – A city man faces charges related to animal cruelty for allegedly neglecting his dog of food and water.
On Wednesday, just before noon, Jamestown police and probation officers conducted a home visit of 38 year-old Jose Ortiz at his apartment at 853 Prendergast Ave. Inside, police allegedly found a Pit Bull in a small room with no food or water. Police said the dog was visibly emaciated and neglected.
Ortiz was charged with overdriving, injuring and torturing animals, and failure to provide proper sustenance.
