JAMESTOWN -A city man is in police custody after allegedly threatening several people with a shotgun.
City police say 36 year-old Kenneth Whitney entered a home at 420 W. Eighth St. at about 1:30 a.m. Monday with a 12-gauge shotgun and threatened to shoot four other people who were also inside the home. Police say Whitney knew the four and was inside the home earlier in the evening when an argument broke out. He then allegedly threatened everyone in the home before leaving, then returned with the gun.
One of the residents called 9-1-1 and police arrived and took Whitney into custody. He was charged with two counts of menacing along with a count each of first degree burglary, third degree criminal possession of a weapon, and first degree use of a firearm.
He was taken to the Jamestown City Jail to await arraignment. No injuries were reported.
