FALCONER – The suspect connected to a bank robbery that took place late Thursday morning in Falconer is now in custody, but police are continuing to ask the public for help in tracking down another person possibly connected to the crime.
Jamestown Police say 34 year-old Albert Chapman of Jamestown was arrested after he allegedly attempted to hold up the Forest Ave. Kwik Fill gas station late Thursday night.
Chapman entered the Kwik Fill around 11:35 p.m. Thursday and reportedly held a clerk at knife-point, demanding cash from the register. He fled the store without money and was located by police.
An investigation by Ellicott and Jamestown police linked Chapman to the Community Bank NA robbery from earlier in the day.
Police are still looking for the driver of a dark-colored sport utility vehicle involved in the robbery.
Chapman was sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail and is scheduled to appear back in court Wednesday at 10 a.m. for a preliminary hearing.
