FALCONER – A Jamestown man involved in a hunting accident that sent a 10 year old to the hospital in November 2015 has been charged for illegally possessing a firearm.
Ellicott Police say 22 year old Cody DiDomenico of Jamestown was hunting with his father and younger brother in a wooded area surrounding East Elmwood Avenue in Falconer on Nov. 27.
Didomenico thought he spotted a deer and fired, only to realize he accidentally shot his brother in the shoulder – who was rushed to the hospital for treatment but later reported in stable condition.
Following an investigation, police determined that Didomenico had a previous felony conviction, making it illegal for him to have a firearm. He was arraigned in Ellicott Court on Wednesday and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and first-degree reckless endangerment.
