JAMESTOWN – The Downtown Jamestown Farmers Market will be hosting its annual Community Day this week on Thursday from noon to 4 p.m.
This year, the market is trying something new and putting the 1K Kids run on hold until Spring. Instead Chautauqua Striders will be holding fitness and agility tests for all ages along with a 40ft inflatable obstacle course.
There will also be live entertainment from local artists throughout the day, a free bounce house, face painting, Touch a Truck attractions, and more.
The market will be open from noon to 4 p.m. The farmers market is located on Cherry St. between 2nd and 3rd streets in downtown Jamestown. Third Street from Washington to Cherry Street along with Cherry street, will be temporally closed from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
“The market is in full swing and we have seen a tremendous increase in traffic, sales and community engagement,” Farmers Market Coordinator Christina Breen said. “Cherry Street has a distinct atmosphere to house new artisan and food vendors and that has created a vibrant scene to shop and support local agriculture, small businesses, art and much more.”
Any questions regarding Community Day and/or the market can be directed to Breen at (716) 664-2477.
