DUNKIRK – The Post-Journal is reporting that the ambulance driver who was operating an ambulance when it veered off the road and crashed – resulting in the death of a patient – has not received any criminal charges related to the incident, though the investigation is continuing.
49-year-old Robin Morey was driving an EmergyCare vehicle when it crashed on Feb. 14. The crash resulted in the death of 77-year-old Arthur McArthur, a Dunkirk resident who was being transported from a hospital to a nursing home.
Morey has been charged with failure to keep right. New York State Police add that no driver negligence has been discovered, but Morey’s cellphone records are being searched. An investigation is ongoing and further charges are still possible.
