ASHVILLE – Investigators with the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office are awaiting the results of autopsy following the suspicious death of a two year old in Ashville.
According to Chautauqua County Sheriff Joe Gerace, police were called to a home at 5227 R t. 474 in Ashville late Monday night. The home is also the location of the Little Racer’s Daycare. However, police say that the death was not connected to the operation of the business.
Investigators won’t say exactly when or how the toddler died. However, following the investigation, police detained a 14-year-old female. Police say the two are related but didn’t disclose the specific relationship. Reports also say that an infant was also at the home at the time but was unharmed.
An autopsy is underway at the Erie County Medical Center.
