JAMESTOWN – The 2017 Lucille Ball Comedy Festival goes into full swing Thursday with more than a dozen different events scheduled to take place in Jamestown and Chautauqua Institution.
Highlighting today’s events will be an appearance by Governor Andrew Cuomo at the site of the National Comedy Center in downtown Jamestown, where he’ll to note the progress of the facility as well as the economic impact it’s expected to have.
The governor’s appearance is slated for this afternoon just before 1 p.m.
Meanwhile, several other events are also set to take place throughout the day and into the evening.
Topping the list is a performance by nationally known standup comedian Jim Gaffigan at the Northwest Arena at 8 p.m. That show is already sold out. The Comedy Late Night show at the Tropicana Room of the Lucy-Desi Center is also sold out.
Tickets are still available for the special conversation at the Jackson Center entitled – Alan Zweibel in Conversation w/ Kliph Nesteroff: From Catskills to SNL to Broadway. Tickets are just $10 and the conversation starts 5 p.m.
Also highlighting Thursday’s events is a conversation with Kelly Carlin, daughter of George Carlin, and comedian and political commentator W. Kamau Bell at Chautauqua Institution.
