ALBANY – Governor Andrew Cuomo will activate New York’s Emergency Operations Center – also known as EOC – later today at 10:00 a.m.
The activation will be to help monitor the winter storm that is moving through the area. In addition to widespread snowfall through much of the state, cold temperatures are also predicted. While Chautauqua County may see temps dip to 15 to 20 below zero, the windchill for other parts of the state, including the southern and western Adirondacks, could make it feel like -30 to -40 degrees.
The National Weather Service has also issued a Blizzard Warning in effect from 6:00 pm Thursday until Friday at 1:00 pm Friday for the western end of Long island.
