Governor Kathy Hochul is proposing to make community college tuition free for New Yorkers ages 25 to 55 pursuing an associated degree in high demanding fields.
The proposal includes covering tuition fees, books, and supplies for these adult learners who have never earned a degree and are pursuing an associate degree in a high demand field, including nursing, teaching, technology, and engineering.
The plan still needs State Legislative approval.
