JAMESTOWN – The Jamestown business owner who was convicted to Food Stamp Fraud has been sentenced to six months home detention by the U.S. District Court in Buffalo.
The U.S. Attorney’s office says 57 year old Joseph Gullotti was sentenced earlier this week. In addition to home confinement for half-a-year, Gullotti was also ordered to pay $173,515 in restitution to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Gullotti owned and operated Fresh Cut Meats & More on Newland Avenue in Jamestown. An investigation found that from January 2015 to March 2017, he was accepting food stamps for ineligible items such as beer, cigarettes, and hot prepared food, while also giving cash for the benefits while also using the benefits to pay for items purchased on credit.
