JAMESTOWN – Students across Chautauqua County will be returning to school next week, including here in Jamestown, where the schools will welcome students back on Tuesday.
According to school officials, all Jamestown schools will hold a half-day of classes on Tuesday with dismissal at 11:30 a.m. Parents are also reminded that Love Elementary School, which was closed last year for renovations, will now be open for the 2016-17 school year.
Even though all K-thru-12 students will have school, there will be no Universal Prekindergarten (UPK) classes on Tuesday. The first day of UPK is instead scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 7.
Elementary school start time is 8:20 a.m. The first full day for elementary students will be Wednesday with dismissal time at 3 p.m.
Middle school doors will open to students at 8:05 a.m. Homeroom begins at 8:10 a.m. Middle school students will report for a full day of school on Wednesday and the day will end at 2:45 p.m.
Jamestown High School students should report to their homerooms by 8 a.m. with the first full day on Wednesday, which will end at 3 p.m.
High School Students who did not receive a homeroom assignment can call the School Counseling Office at 483-4366 or look at the homeroom lists posted around JHS on the first day.
If you need to register your child, please visit the Central Registration Office at the Administration Building at 197 Martin Road. Parents with Special Education questions can call 483-4344. Any parent who needs to register his or her child for Universal Prekindergarten should call 483-4342.
