JAMESTOWN – Jamestown Police have determined that a fire that took place early Wednesday morning that destroyed both an abandoned home and significantly damaged an occupied apartment house was intentionally set.
According to the Jamestown Post-Journal, the fire was first reported around 2:15 a.m. and originated at an abandoned property at 213 Barrett Ave. before spreading to a neighboring apartment at 209 Barrett Ave.
UP to 12 residents were inside the apartment at 209 Barrett Ave. and all were evacuated safely with the help of the Jamestown Fire Department. No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross was called to assist those displaced.
