MAYVILLE – The Davide Coggins double murder trail will enter its seventh day of testimony Friday in Chautauqua County Court.
On Thursday Chautauqua County DA David Foley called several more witnesses to the stand, including county fire investigators who provided details on what caused a fire that took place inside the home of Gordon and Joyce Skinner the morning of April 17 2013. Experts say gasoline was the likely cause. They also provided more information into the grisly scene, which included both the bodies of Godon and Joyce Skinner being set on fire in the basement of their home.
Coggins is accused of breaking into the Skinner Home on Wheeler Hill Rd. in the town of Carroll along with three other men and killing the couple, then setting the fire to cover up their crime.
The three others have already reached plea deals with the DA’s office. Coggins is facing two counts of first degree murder along with several other charges.
The trial continues Friday morning in Chautauqua County court.
