Fire at Abandoned Building Described as Suspicious

JAMESTOWN – A fire at a vacant warehouse on Winsor St. has been described as “suspicious in nature” by the Jamestown Fire Department.

The Post-Journal says fire crews were called to the former Crawford Furniture Atlas Division building at 40 Winsor St. around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday after smoke was reportedly seen coming from a rear loading dock. A small fire was discovered inside and extinguished.

The fire is still under investigation, but is considered “suspicious in nature” due to the structure being unoccupied.
