JAMESTOWN – Organizers of last year’s nationally televised Progressive Skating and Gymanstics Spectacular say the event will return to Jamestown Savings Bank Arena at the end of this year.
Steve Disson of Disson Skating says he’s reached a multi-year agreement with ABC for the exclusive broadcast of Disson Skating’s entertainment specials for the 2014/2015 television season. This marks the return of figure skating to ABC, which has a long and well-received history in the sport. Last year’s event was televised on NBC.
ABC will air the first set of 2-hour skating shows on in the fall of 2014. The second pair of skating specials will air in early 2015.
More details will be announced later this year, but Disson has confirmed that the 2014 Skating & Gymnastics Spectacular will be taped at the Jamestown Savings Bank Arena on Dec. 14. The air date as well as performance line-up and celebrity musical guests will be announced at a later date.
