FALCONER – An Ellicott police officer is recovering from minor injuries he sustained while arresting a Falconer man earlier this week.
According to Ellicott Police, the incident took place Wednesday when officers were placing 32 year-old Lisandro Sanchez under arrest after he allegedly stole a debit card and used it without permission.
Police confronted Sanchez after a Falconer resident reported to them that he took a debit card from her home and used it without permission. An estimated $360 was then removed from the victim’s account. As police attempted to serve a warrant for his arrest, Sanchez allegedly resisted police and attempted to flee, causing a minor injury to an officer.
Police charged Sanchez with resisting arrest, assault, unlawful possession of personal identification information and petit larceny. He has since been arraigned and is now in the county jail awaiting his next court appearance.
