ANGOLA – The new district Superintendent and Chief Executive Officer of the Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES has been announced. The BOCES board selected David O’Rourke last month and is expected to make the formal appointment at its July 11 meeting. O’Rourke had been superintendent of the Silver Creek Central School District from 2008 to 2012 before being appointed assistant superintendent for management services for Erie 2 BOCES in January.
Robert D. Olczak, interim district superintendent of Erie BOCES and district superintendent of Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES, conducted the search for an individual to replace Robert Guiffreda, who retired from the position Dec. 31, 2011.
The Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES works to help coordinate education services with all school districts in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties, as well as some in southern Erie County.
