JAMESTOWN – A city teen was sent to the emergency room of WCA hospital early Tuesday evening following a stabbing incident in downtown Jamestown.
City police say the 17 year old female victim was sliced across the face and ear by a 16 year old female suspect from Dunkirk. Because of the age of the suspect, her name is not being released. The incident took place about 6:30 p.m. at 401 W. Fourth St.
According to an investigation, the incident was related to an earlier altercation involving several women from both Jamestown and Dunkirk.
The victim was sent to WCA for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The suspect had reportedly fled the scene, but was located by Fredonia police a short time later. She was then transported back to Jamestown and charged with 2nd degree assault (felony) and 4th degree criminal possession of a weapon (misdemeanor). Police say other charges may also be pending.
