DUNKIRK – Dunkirk Police continue their investigation into a stabbing that occurred on the 100 block of Lincoln Avenue last Wednesday afternoon. Police responded to a report of a fight around 4 p.m. and learned that the victim, who has not been identified, was stabbed and transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk before being transferred to ECMC in Buffalo.
Police are encouraging anyone with information about the incident to call police headquarters.
Meanwhile Dunkirk city and school officials also issued a joint statement late last week in response to the incident, trying to assure parents that the schools are safe. Although the incident didn’t happen on school property, additional police patrols were added in the school area to protect the residents and students.
