MAYVILLE – A Dunkirk man about to go to trial for the death of a Fredonia man last year has pleaded guilty to 2nd-degree manslaughter. The office of Chautauqua County District Attorney David Foley announced that 46 year-old Theodore Wickham entered his guilty plea In Chautauqua County Court on Wednesday. Wickham entered the plea in connection with the September 14 death of 73 year-old Frank Slate. A co-defendant in the case, 28 year-old Christopher Grant of Dunkirk, had already pled guilty to a similar manslaughter count. Both Grant and Wickham face three or four years in state prison and will be sentenced at a later date.
