DUNKIRK – A Dunkirk man faces grand larceny charges for allegedly taking more than $4700 from an area youth football league that includes teams in southern Chautauqua County.
Chautauqua County Sheriff Deputies say 41 year old Allen Carlson Jr. is accused of using money from the Lakeshore Midget Football league for his own finances. Carlson was acting as the league’s Treasurer and allegedly used the leagues funds to pay his personal debts. Investigators say that in a two-month span Carlson stole a total of $4785.75 from the league.
Calrson was arrested last week on a charge of fourth degree grand larceny. Officers say he also repaid the league in full the money that was taken.
The Lakeshore Midget Football League involves several area midget football programs, including Southwestern, Falconer, Chautauqua Lake, Bemus Point, Frewsurg, Panama and Cassadaga.
