POLAND – A Dunkirk man is in the county jail following an assault investigation that took place Saturday night in the town of Poland.
Sheriff deputies say 37 year-old Dennis Wallace is accused of going to a home on Eccles Rd., assaulting a person inside the home, and then running off on foot into a wooded area.
Sheriff deputies were called to the scene and were able to locate Wallace with the use of the K9 Unit. Wallace was taken into custody and charged with Assault 3rd degree, Strangulation 2nd degree, Criminal mischief 3rd degree and Endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned in court and remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail on bail.
