MAYVILLE – Chautauqua County Executive Vince Horrigan has announced the appointment of Kathleen Dennison as the new Budget Director for Chautauqua County.
Dennison will begin her new position on February 1. She will replace current director Kitty Crow, who will be promoted in February to the position of Finance Director.
Dennison served as Accounting Supervisor for the Chautauqua County Office of the Sheriff for the past five years. Prior to her current position, she worked in the private sector as Assistant General Manager at the Clarion Hotel from 2010-2011, General Manager at a hotel in Mongolia, and as Innkeeper and Owner of The White Inn from 1993 to 2009. She was also a Financial Consultant for Royal Viking Line from 1985 to 1989.
“Kathleen has over 30 years of experience in financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and revenue and cash management,” said Horrigan. “Her distinct background in financial management will be a great asset to the county and I look forward to working with her in her new role as Budget Director.”

I plan to use my experience in the public and private sectors to continue the current prudent management of the County’s budget.”
Dennison earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Mathematics at Claremont McKenna College in Claremont, Calif. and her Master’s Degree in Hotel Administration at Cornell University in Ithaca. She currently resides in Fredonia.
