MAYVILLE – Testimony continued Tuesday in Chautauqua County Court in the murder trial of Anthony Robert Taglianetti, who stands accused of shooting and killing Clymer School Superintendent Keith Reed Jr. in September 2012. It was the fifth day of the trail.
According to an article in the Jamestown Post-Journal, on Tuesday a forensics investigator took the stand for the prosecution and confirmed that an ATM receipt from Virginia had been found near the body of Keith Reed Jr. Taglianetti is from Virginia and is accused of driving 350 miles to Clymer to confront Reed after learning of an online affair between Reed and his then-wife, Mary Taglianetti.
Today’s report in the PJ also says tat several other law enforcement officials also took the stand on Tuesday to help build the case against Taglianetti. And the brother or Reed’s ex-wife also took the stand, saying he tried to contact Reed shortly after learning he was missing and the phone was answered by an unidentifiable person. The phone was later traced to a roadside construction area near Harrisburg, Pa.
Taglianetti is on trial for 2nd degree murder. If convicted, he faces a sentence of 25 years to life. The trial is scheduled to continue today at 9:30 a.m.
